Two Penningtons Manches young private client lawyers recognised in eprivateclient's Top 35 Under 35 and Citywealth’s Leaders List 2016

Lucy Edwards and James d’Aquino of Penningtons Manches’ private client and tax team have been named as two of eprivateclient’s Top 35 Under 35 2016, the definitive annual list of young private client practitioners.

The Top 35 Under 35 is designed to identify, recognise, introduce and promote the rising stars of the private client professions. It also provides an opportunity for the top 35 men and top 35 women to meet each other throughout the next 12 months through smaller events.

Lucy appears on the list for the first time. Having qualified in 2011, Lucy is a now a senior associate, a member of STEP and named in the Citywealth Leaders List 2015 and 2016. Her work focuses on wealth and succession planning for UK and international families. This includes providing remittance and pre-immigration planning, tax-efficient financial arrangements post-divorce, and advising on the administration of complex estates. 

She works closely with colleagues in the firm’s family, immigration, employment and property departments and has also successfully re-energised and expanded the firm’s Young Professionals group and chairs its committee meetings. 

Also a Top 35 Under 35 2015, James d’Aquino joined Penningtons Manches in 2014 and was promoted to senior associate within 12 months. In April 2016, he was made partner in recognition of his talent and ability. James’ advisory work is predominantly for international clients, particularly in relation to their offshore restructuring, UK tax planning, and the Swiss-UK Agreement. He also deals with offshore tax and trust structures demonstrating an understanding which belies his age.

James is also the latest Penningtons Manches lawyer to join the Citywealth Leaders List 2016 together with Lucy and 17 other private wealth specialists from the firm’s private client and tax, contentious private client, family and immigration teams.
