Penningtons Manches ranked in eprivateclient's 2016 Top 25 Family Law Firms

The Penningtons Manches family law team has been ranked as one of eprivateclient’s 2016 Top 25 Family Law Firms in its inaugural survey of the leading firms in the sector. The family law firms’ rankings are the latest in eprivateclient’s Top 25 series of annual surveys of law firms, trust companies, accountancy firms and residential property buyers.

As with the existing Top 25 series, eprivateclient surveyed around 100 UK law firms for the Top 25 Family Law Firms rankings and made a thorough assessment of ten factors of which five criteria are published in the rankings. These are the number of family law partners, fee earners and total family staff together with fee income and family law fee income as a percentage of total firm-wide income. 

According to eprivateclient, a leading news service for private client practitioners: “The data shows a sector in good health with total fee income across the Top 25 standing at £131.8 million – an average of £5.27 million per firm.” The Penningtons Manches family team is the sixth largest with 42 staff and has the ninth largest fee income of £5.9 million. The firm’s private client team has also been ranked as one of eprivateclient’s Top 25 Law Firms for the last seven years.

Two Penningtons Manches family partners, Rebecca Carlyon and James Stewart, have also been named as two of the 23 best divorce lawyers in the UK by The Midult™,  a forum-led platform founded in 2016 to deliver targeted news, useful information, community and connection for grown-up women. Rebecca is described as “bright, brilliant and shimmeringly discreet” while James is “a major player” who “recently acted for the co-founder of one of the world’s leading hedge funds”.
