Penningtons Manches - knowledge partner for India's Emerging 20 programme

Posted: 22/03/2016

The 20 companies selected by London & Partners, the Mayor of London’s promotion and inward investment body, as India's Emerging 20 (IE 20) were presented at the opening of trading at London Stock Exchange (LSE) on 15 March by Jo Johnson, minister for universities and science.

The IE 20 companies spent the rest of the day attending workshops, mentoring sessions and a dinner at the Taj St James’ Court Hotel.

Penningtons Manches was associated with IE 20 as the knowledge partner for the “Access to Markets and Finance Workshops” at the London Stock Exchange that gave 20 of India's most dynamic businesses information about opportunities for winning recognition on the international stage and developing their global potential by coming to London.

Four Penningtons Manches partners  - Phillip D’Costa, Charles Brooks, Jon Bartley and Chris Owen - ran legal mentoring sessions at the LSE for the 20 companies during the day while Ajit Mishra, co-head of the firm’s India group, also attended the event and dinner.

Commenting on the firm’s involvement in IE 20, India group partner Phillip D’Costa said: “Penningtons Manches has a long history of active involvement in building UK-India business while working alongside London & Partners, UKTI and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and we regularly advise Indian companies on UK market entry strategies, access to finance and international scaling opportunities.

“We were delighted to be a part of the IE 20 programme and to welcome and support the next generation of dynamic Indian entrepreneurs taking their businesses global.”
