Multilaw, the leading international association of independent law firms, has published the 2015 edition of its highly regarded HR handbook, How to Hire and Fire: A Global Guide. The collaborative electronic publication, now in its fifth edition, provides a summary of key employment law principles across 105 jurisdictions globally, making it the most comprehensive edition that has yet been produced.
Penningtons Manches employment partner Jon Heuvel, who is chairman of Multilaw’s labour and employment practice group, acted as general editor of the publication, which is intended to serve as a quick but practical guide providing answers to everyday labour and employment concerns.
Ten years ago members of the group first decided to join forces and work together across jurisdictional divides on a single project. The result was How to Hire and Fire in 76 Jurisdictions, a hardback book with over 600 pages, published by Kluwer Law International in October 2005. This latest e-book represents the culmination of the group’s efforts over the subsequent years. Some 75 different law firms, encompassing between them over 8,000 lawyers worldwide, have participated in the project.
Commenting on the latest edition, Jon Heuvel said: “I am delighted that Multilaw members are still as enthusiastic as ever to be involved in the production of this invaluable handbook which continues to be welcomed by HR professionals from all corners of the globe.”
