Three in a row for Penningtons Manches’ family law team as partner makes The Lawyer's Hot 100 2014 list

The Penningtons Manches family law department has started 2014 on a high with the inclusion of partner, Rebecca Carlyon, in The Lawyer's prestigious Hot 100 list. Published annually, the Hot 100 highlights "100 lawyers who were at the top of their game during the last year and who are set to shape the legal landscape in the 12 months ahead".

Rebecca is the third member of the Penningtons Manches family team to be included in The Lawyer Hot 100 following Rebecca Cockcroft in 2012 and James Stewart in 2011. In addition to being shortlisted for Associate of the Year in the Family Law Awards 2012, Rebecca has also appeared in the Spears Magazine Index of Legal Rising Stars.

Regarded as one of the leading family lawyers of her generation, Rebecca’s inclusion in the 2014 listing reflects her passion for family law and her involvement in a number of leading cases. For example, she represented the mother in the ground-breaking case of AI v MT EWHC [2013], where a High Court Judge of the Family Division was successfully persuaded to delegate authority to an all issues religious arbitration.

Rebecca's inclusion comes at an exciting time for the Penningtons Manches' family department which has received considerable industry recognition and personal accolades over the last 12 months. In January 2013, partner, Gillian Rivers, was elected Chairman of the Family Committee of the IBA; in February 2013, James Stewart was named "Lawyer of the Week" in The Times; and in October 2013, Anna Worwood was elected President of the Private Clients' Commission of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).

A Penningtons Manches' partner, Jo Edwards, will also become Chairman of Resolution, the leading family law organisation in England and Wales from 2014.

David Raine, Penningtons Manches Chief Executive, has also been listed in the Hot 100 2014 following his outstanding leadership role in the bringing together of the Penningtons and Manches firms in October 2013.
