The AA launches its ‘Think Once, Think Twice, Think Bikes’ campaign to promote motorist vigilance

Posted: 07/03/2014

Today, 7 March 2014,  sees the launch of The AA’s ‘Think Bike’ campaign which urges motorists to look out for people on bicycles and motorbikes. The AA is providing vehicle owners with stickers to attach to their wing mirrors to prompt them to be vigilant and keep an eye out for other road users.

An initial one million free stickers will be distributed by the AA and at all Halfords outlets. The campaign has the backing of cycling and motoring organisations including British Cycling, the police, the haulage industry and the Government.

Charlene McAuliffe, case manager at Penningtons Manches LLP, said: “While this may seem like a very simple measure, the campaign reflects the importance of looking out for everyone on the road. Being aware of other road users is an integral part of driving and one of the Highway Code’s rules. We need to ensure that people are following these rules to ensure both their own safety and that of those around them.

“What is great about this particular campaign is that, as one of the UK’s largest motoring organisations, the AA has widespread access to the motoring public to promote safer driving habits on the road on a national level.”
