Penningtons Manches recruits knowledge management director

Mark Collins has joined Penningtons Manches LLP as director of knowledge management, a partner and a member of the firm’s strategy board. With over 15 years’ experience in legal knowledge management, Mark was most recently expertise enablement officer at Zurich Insurance Company and prior to that was head of knowledge at Nabarro LLP.

He started his career as a litigation lawyer before becoming head of litigation PSL at DLA Piper and then head of knowledge for a number of City firms and in-house for BT Legal.

Mark’s role at Penningtons Manches is to ensure that the firm uses its shared knowledge and intelligence to best effect and that the knowledge management function helps to deliver smarter, more cost-effective services to its clients.  He is also responsible for the library and information service and legal training.

Commenting on Mark’s appointment, chief executive David Raine said: ”Following the doubling in size of our firm over the last 12 months, Mark’s appointment reflects our need for even stronger co-ordination of our people, processes and systems.
