Penningtons Manches instructed to investigate premature failure of Corin Cormet metal-on-metal hip implant

The Penningtons Manches’ personal injury team has been instructed to investigate a product liability claim against the British orthopaedics company, the Corin Group, following an early failure of one of its implants.

The Corin Cormet Hip system was introduced into the UK market in the late 1990s. Recent data has shown that these implants are failing at a higher than normal rate. Reports have shown that some patients with a metal-on-metal hip are suffering an adverse reaction to metal debris, which is destroying the surrounding tissues, leaving them with debilitating pain and limited mobility.

We are investigating a number of metal-on-metal hip implant claims on the basis that the higher rate of failure is caused because the implants are defective. Unfortunately, this causes significant and permanent injuries for those patients affected.
