Members of Penningtons Manches’ personal injury team are rising to the challenge of competing in an innovative fund-raising event in aid of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability in Putney.
Row Hard will take place on the top floor of City Hall, which boasts spectacular views across London and the Thames, on Wednesday 11 June. Participants will race against teams of four from law firms, banks and other City based companies as they attempt to cover 2 km on rowing machines in the fastest possible time.
The competition is aiming to provide vital support for the patients and residents of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, all of whom have complex and profound brain injuries or neurological conditions. The Penningtons Manches team is fundraising particularly for new wheelchairs, which have to be built for each individual patient, as their needs are so different and disabilities so varied.
Team captain and personal injury partner Warren Collins says: “A wheelchair costs around £2,500, so we are hoping that our contribution will help towards changing someone's life and providing some comfort.”
