Penningtons Manches’ real estate team has exchanged on a major deal for Sellar Property Group, involving a £500 million joint venture and forward funding with Notting Hill Housing Trust, which will transform Canada Water in London’s Docklands.
The scheme involves the construction of 1030 homes for sale or rental, including 230 affordable housing units, together with a 100,000 sq ft store pre let to Decathlon, a cafe, restaurants, shops, an art house cinema and offices. Around the dock, the area will be opened up as public space and feature new walkways, cycle paths and improved access to Canada Water station. A community sports facility and health centre will also be provided.
The joint venture has appointed Sellar Design and Development as development manager for the redevelopment of the 7.5 acre site in Surrey Quays Road, SE16, on the former Rotherhithe Peninsula.
Penningtons Manches' team was led by Louis Manches and included Melvin Pedro, Gemma Bill, James McNeilly, Chris Warenius, Giordano Suergiu and Katherine Waller.
