'Sportsability Day 2013' encourages local schoolchildren to particpate in wider range of sporting activity

Surrey Sports Park, Guildford, will once again host a ‘Sportsability Day’ sponsored by Penningtons Manches LLP on Thursday 14 November. This day offers over 100 special needs children the opportunity to try some new and different sports.

The format of last year’s inaugural and highly successful event has been expanded to include more schools and a wider range of sporting activity ranging from football and basketball to boccia and climbing. Four schools have registered this year, namely The Ridgeway School, The Park School, The Abbey School and Gosden House School. Volunteers from Penningtons Manches LLP will support the students with the sessions being led by qualified Sports Park coaches.

Head of Sales & Partnerships Roscoe Brown said: “We are delighted that Penningtons Manches has continued to support the Sports Park in its outreach initiatives. This unique event demonstrates that both ourselves and Penningtons Manches are dedicated to delivering more sport to more people across the community more often.”

Penningtons Manches partner Stephen Law, who is based at the firm’s Guildford office, added: “We are very much looking forward to working with Surrey Sports Park on this rewarding initiative. The children who took part last year enjoyed the event enormously and we hope that this success will be repeated in 2013.”

This event is the latest in a series of initiatives aimed at encouraging sports for all ages which Penningtons Manches LLP has undertaken in partnership with Surrey Sports Park since the start of its sponsorship in 2010.
