Two Penningtons Manches employees put down their razors in support of Movember 2013 and amassed the remarkable sum of almost £25,980 in sponsorship for their efforts.
Now a global initiative, Movember supports world class men’s health programmes which combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges by encouraging men to grow moustaches throughout the month of November. Gary Foster (based in Penningtons Manches’ Godalming office) and Dan Stephens (based in Oxford) both lent their faces to the cause this year and have been rewarded by raising an exceptional amount of money between them.
The charity runs a leaderboard to encourage fundraising – both in terms of individual and team efforts. At the end of the month, Gary ranked number seven (£13,270) and Dan number eight (£12,700) in the UK individual fundraising charts, while Penningtons Manches ranked number one for a UK team of 10 or less participants and number nine in the UK overall.
