Contact a Family – empowering families and disabled children through support, information and advice

Posted: 04/10/2013

Contact a Family is a national charity that exists to support the families of disabled children, whatever their condition or disability. Its aim is to empower families and children to live the lives they want and achieve their full potential by offering support, information and advice to hundreds of thousands of families each year and campaigning tirelessly for them to receive a better deal.

In the current economic client, organisations and the families they support are of course under more pressure than ever. Contact a Family is committed to ending the poverty, disadvantage and isolation experienced by families with disabled children across the UK. Guy Forster, a clinical negligence solicitor who specialises in claims on behalf of disabled children, commented: “We have seen first-hand the way in which our clients benefit from the work that Contact a Family does, not just individually but also the campaign work at a national level to improve support for children and their families. Many of them will often feel that they face a constant battle to get the help and advice they need, whether it be in relation to education, welfare benefits or something else. The Contact a Family network makes a vital contribution in making life easier.”
