Headway was set up to help people affected by brain injury on both a national and local level. Action for Brain Injury Week 2012 runs from 14 May 2012 to 18 May 2012 to raise awareness of the vital work of this charity in supporting brain injury survivors and their families.
Brain injury doesn’t just affect individuals; it can transform the lives of entire families. Emotional and behavioural changes in the individual can impact on relationships and the dynamic of the family. Caring for someone with a brain injury can require a great deal of patience and sacrifice. This year’s Action for Brain Injury Week will highlight the issues surrounding caring for someone with a brain injury while offering practical guidance to those who need assistance.

This can provide vital long term and specialist medical treatment, care, equipment, accommodation and support, enabling them to return to as normal a life as possible.
