Lawyers from Penningtons' five offices have received high praise in the 2012 edition of legal profession 'bible' The Legal 500, which has just been published. The directory, produced annually and considered to be the definitive guide to UK law firms, has recommended 35 of Penningtons' practice area teams as well as 48 of its lawyers individually.
In this year's publication, The Legal 500's 25th anniversary edition, Penningtons has been listed as a top tier firm in six practice areas - employment, immigration, corporate tax, clinical negligence and personal tax, trusts and probate. There were also high rankings for the firm’s corporate and commercial, banking and finance, dispute resolution, professional discipline, partnership, real estate, social housing, agriculture and estates, education, contentious trusts, Court of Protection, family and personal injury teams, with Penningtons commended for its ‘industry knowledge, approachability and high quality service’.
Several lawyers across the firm have been named in the elite ‘leading lawyers’ list, The Legal 500’s guide to outstanding lawyers nationwide. They include Tim Tyndall for employment, Sarah Cardew for corporate tax and Julie Burton for Court of Protection advice.
Rankings are based purely on merit and reflect feedback passed to the directory by a broad cross-section of both clients and lawyers within competitor practices. As part of their analysis in the last 12 months, researchers from The Legal 500 have interviewed over 250,000 corporate counsel globally.
Penningtons’ chief executive David Raine is particularly pleased with this year’s listings: “We’re delighted that our core practice areas and a range of niche teams have achieved excellent coverage.
