Sarah is a senior knowledge lawyer for the employment team based in London. She has 25 years’ experience across a broad range of employment matters, acting for both employees and employers in a variety of sectors including financial services, technology and the public sector, and has a particular interest in issues relating to diversity, equality and inclusion.

For the past 15 years Sarah has focussed on knowledge management with an employment focus, and is responsible for the implementation, management and monitoring of strategic knowledge services with the employment team. Sarah supports and promotes the work of the employment team through drafting precedents, keeping the team and its clients up to date on developing areas of the law, and harnessing new technology and ways of working to deliver an efficient and effective service. In addition, Sarah manages the team’s content strategy and regularly writes articles for client publications. She also writes and delivers content for internal and external training programmes.

I have always loved the broad spectrum of employment law and that it is a fast-moving area of the law which has a real and direct impact on people’s lives. Since 2010 I have been lucky enough to combine my passion for employment law with my keen interest in knowledge management and legal technology.

Sarah is a senior knowledge lawyer in the real estate team with more than 20 years of commercial property expertise. She drives knowledge development and supports the work of the firm’s commercial real estate team.

She assists the team on complex transactional points and provides technical training on the latest legal developments. Sarah is also responsible for reviewing the latest legal tech tools, to increase efficiency within the team, and help deliver excellent client service. As part of the wider best practice group, she champions knowledge initiatives across the firm.

Sarah Brimacombe, Senior knowledge lawyer

As well as having more than 15 years’ experience in real estate knowledge management, Sarah has experience of developing e-learning resources for real estate lawyers with a leading online legal knowledge provider. Before becoming a knowledge lawyer, she spent several years as a transactional real estate lawyer at a City law firm, where her clients included investors, developers, lenders, asset managers, and retail tenants. Sarah is a member of the Property Support Lawyers Group.

Sarah Robinson

Sarah is a senior knowledge lawyer for the private client department based in London. She has extensive experience of dealing with all aspects of private client work, including a particular focus on high-net-worth clients and estate planning advice.

She is responsible for the implementation, management and monitoring of strategic knowledge services within the private client department. Sarah facilitates knowledge sharing through drafting precedents, providing advice and research on complex, technical legal issues, and identifying important legal developments for dissemination and discussion. She regularly chairs, writes content for, and speaks at internal training events, both for her department and across the firm.

I value the depth and complexity of private client and tax law. My role focuses on delivering strategic knowledge services, supporting colleagues with clear guidance, technical insight and practical resources to enhance efficiency, consistency and client service across the department.

Sarah Robinson, Senior knowledge lawyer

A member and vice-chair of the Law Society’s private client section, Sarah has helped to chair, speak at and attend several of the excellent events provided by the section. She is also certified as a legal project practitioner with the Institute of Legal Management. She uses her LPM skills to initiate and manage efficiency projects and tech tool developments within the department. Sarah joined the firm in 2015 and has over 20 years of experience in delivering private client knowledge services and solutions to firms in London and the South East.

She has experience in all aspects of residential property, with an emphasis on high value transactions including enfranchisement, lease extensions and landlord and tenant work. She also has in-house experience in a wide range of matters affecting commercial and charity property.

Hannah’s role focuses on ensuring her colleagues stay up to date with legal current awareness. She helps to facilitate the sharing of knowledge through organising and delivering training, drafting precedents and client guides, writing and editing legal articles, and assisting with complex legal issues and legal research. She is also involved in delivering strategic policies, systems and processes to improve efficiency and save costs, such as document automation and technology.

Harriet is recognised as a Lexology ‘legal influencer’ and is a member of the Lexis Case Analysis Expert Panel for Dispute Resolution. She regularly writes for a range of publications, including Law360 and New Law Journal, offering expert analysis on a range of legal developments. Harriet has also contributed to guides on fraud and asset recovery, the enforcement of foreign judgments and most recently on group litigation.

In addition to her writing, Harriet is an experienced speaker and has presented for MBL Seminars and Lexis Webinars, delivering training on dispute resolution and commercial litigation topics. She is also an active member of LegalUK, contributing to initiatives that promote the UK as a global hub for legal services. Marina is a senior knowledge lawyer in the corporate team. She has a broad range of experience in corporate transactions, including public and private M&A, admissions to AIM and the Main Market, joint ventures, corporate finance, private equity, commercial contracts and general company law matters.

Her knowledge role involves supporting the corporate team by developing precedents, preparing and delivering training, implementing business improvement projects, facilitating a knowledge-sharing culture and promoting cost-effective practices, while keeping up-to-date with legal developments, market practice and distributing information in an accessible format. She also supports the firm with client engagement initiatives and contributes to the wider knowledge strategy, with particular emphasis on using technology to increase efficiency, including through automating documents and processes.

As part of my varied role, I’m keen to promote best practice and identify opportunities that enhance efficiency, including through leveraging technologies, to support our people in delivering a client-centric service.

Having trained and qualified as a solicitor at a Magic Circle law firm, Marina practised as a transactional corporate lawyer in its corporate and commercial practice group. She also practised at another City law firm before joining Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2018.

Alex is a senior knowledge lawyer in the real estate team, with experience of a broad range of complex commercial property work. She supports and promotes the work of the real estate team through knowledge development.

She provides expertise to the team on transactional issues, as well as insights on legal and technological developments, helping the team to deliver an exceptional client service. In addition, Alex delivers training to her colleagues, develops the team’s precedents and practice notes, and guides the team on thought leadership and communication with clients. As part of the wider best practice group, she works with colleagues to redesign processes and systems to help the firm to achieve its strategic goals.

Throughout my career I’ve placed an emphasis on staying ahead of the curve. It’s both rewarding and inspiring to undertake a role where I keep colleagues and clients up to date with the latest case law and both legislative and technical developments.

Alex joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2024 and is based in London. She has over 15 years of experience in delivering commercial real estate knowledge services, as well as experience in developing interactive e-learning for real estate lawyers. She is a member of the Property Support Lawyers Group.
