Changes to the immigration rules are published
A number of changes to the immigration rules were laid before Parliament on 22 November 2012 which will come into effect on 13 December 2012.
The new rules will affect sponsors and migrants coming to the UK under Tiers 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the points based system in addition to sponsorship. Changes to the rules affecting criminality, settlement and family and private life will also come into force in December. It was also announced that in 2013 changes will be made to the youth mobility scheme quotas and Tier 4 loan letters.
