Settlement for elderly woman who tripped on car park drain cover

We recently secured damages for an elderly client who sustained injury as a result of tripping on a depression where a drain cover was sited in a car park of a private premises.

She had not seen the depression in the area, caught her foot in it and fell heavily. As a result, she sustained injury to her knee, which had previously been the subject of a total knee replacement.

Liability was quickly admitted on the basis of defective premises and a settlement was achieved following medical evidence addressing the extent of the injuries caused by the accident.
