Jeep crash mars Indian tiger trek

Our team was recently instructed by a woman who had been on a package holiday in India with Great Rail Journeys. The trip encompassed flights to and from Mumbai, seven nights onboard the Deccan Odyssey train in a deluxe cabin and various tours, including a morning and afternoon tiger-spotting safari in Ranthambore National Park.

While on the tiger trek, the driver appeared to suddenly increase his speed in the jeep on an unmade road. He misjudged the corner and the jeep struck a tree on the outside of the bend. The impact caused the front windscreen to shatter.

Our client struck her chin on the metal seat in front and received a nasty cut which has left residual scarring. The first aid facilities were minimal meaning that our client was forced to undergo treatment in hospitals in India which was a traumatic experience for her. The remainder of the holiday was understandably ruined.

We successfully pursued a claim against her tour operator and secured £13,100. The claim was settled within nine months of instruction.
