Italian waiter awarded €2.65 million after hospital misdiagnosed bacterial meningitis

Our client, Mr Napoli, suffered severe brain damage with weakness down his right side, paralysis and cognitive difficulties as a result of inadequately treated meningitis. He had no option but to return home to live with his parents in Italy.

The case was complicated by currency fluctuations, which we had to ensure did not affect the settlement value of the case, so that funds were preserved and sufficient to meet his care needs in Italy. We also travelled to Italy for a home visit so as to clarify his accommodation needs. Alison Appelboam-Meadows conducted the case, assisted by members of the team and other Italian speakers in the firm.
