Failure to keep good records leads to conditional registration for 15 months

Mr S had been practising for many years and was brought before the fitness to practise panel of a healthcare regulator in relation to allegations of a clinical nature and shortcomings with his record keeping.

The panel found the facts proved in relation to allegations that he had submitted claims for payment for two patients when he had not undertaken the relevant or appropriate work required and for other patients when he had not recorded sufficiently detailed clinical notes.

There were also findings that he had failed to take sufficient steps in relation to patients presenting with certain clinical symptoms. For example, he had failed to undertake further investigation or refer to a specialist and to record sufficient detail in his clinical notes.

The panel imposed an order for conditional registration for a period of 15 months.
