Damages for security guard who fell down an uncovered manhole

Our client, a security guard, fell down an uncovered manhole while patrolling his employer’s premises one evening. He suffered upper limb fractures and soft tissue injuries to his whole body from which he made a protracted recovery.

Following our intervention, the defendant, his employer, agreed to a settlement of £19,000 in recognition that, although our client eventually made a full recovery, his ability to work and undertake normal pre-accident activities was restricted for several months.
