Damages for recovery patrolman injured while fixing a vehicle

We successfully recovered £18,500 compensation for a recovery patrolman who suffered a soft tissue injury to his left little finger when attending and working on a broken down member’s vehicle.

The patrolman was working within the engine bay of the vehicle trying to find out why it would not start when the defendant, the member who owned the vehicle, attempted to turn the ignition key without instruction to do so.

As a result of injuries sustained, our client, the patrolman, has significant consequential symptoms and functional restrictions. We successfully negotiated a settlement of his claim despite no formal position in respect of liability being resolved.
