Paul Mander

Partner

Paul heads the firm’s 40-lawyer employment team and is the key relationship partner for a number of household name clients. He advises employers on a wide range of employment matters and also acts for senior executives, including those joining or leaving an employer, partnership or LLP, and often both.

Described by a client as ‘an iron fist in a velvet glove’, Paul is an astute negotiator with a clear sense of purpose and a focus on achieving the best outcome efficiently. His employer clients are primarily UK based but frequently have overseas (most often US) parent companies and pan-European operations. His employee clients are typically C-suite or board level and value his advice and his calm, pragmatic approach during challenging negotiations.

In an area of the law that is constantly changing and highly regulated I believe it is important not to lose sight of the commercial objective. It is also important, as we are dealing with people, to take that properly into account in achieving that objective.

Paul Mander, Partner

Paul is also regularly instructed to carry out investigations into grievances, proposed disciplinary action and other potential misfeasance where he is able to extract the relevant information with minimal disruption to the business.
