Olivia Hodgson

Associate

Olivia is an associate in the private client team and works out of the Guildford office. She advises on a broad range of private client matters including the drafting of wills and trust documents, the preparation and registration of powers of attorney, and lifetime planning.

She also assists personal representatives in the administration of estates, including providing advice on ways to mitigate tax liabilities through post-death restructuring of the estate. Olivia has experience in advising a wide variety of clients, including high net worth clients, vulnerable and elderly clients, those with complex family relationships, and clients with business interests.

I pride myself on being empathetic and approachable, as well as demonstrating excellent attention to detail. I use these skills to support all my clients, particularly those going through bereavement where it is a difficult time for them and their family.

Olivia Hodgson, Associate

Olivia joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2018 as a trainee solicitor, and qualified as an associate in 2020 after completing a training contract at the firm over a two-year period. Prior to this, she graduated with a first-class honours degree in law and completed the LPC with distinction. She also worked as a paralegal at a family law firm, obtaining emergency injunctions for victims of domestic violence. She has been named as a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500.

Assisting in negotiations with HMRC in order to mitigate substantial inheritance tax liabilities.

Powers of attorney

Acting for clients on lasting powers of attorney (LPAs) for both health and welfare and property and finance, and the registration of enduring powers of attorney.
