Mylor Beames

Associate

Mylor is an associate in the private client team, with broad experience of lifetime tax planning, as well as succession planning.

Since qualifying as a lawyer in 2006, Mylor has specialised in private client matters and tax planning at a number of top ranked firms. He advises clients on UK succession planning (wills, trusts and exemptions from UK inheritance tax), as well as on lifetime tax mitigation strategies such as the establishment of family investment structures. He also advises clients with international connections on the UK’s statutory residence test and associated immigration/emigration planning, individuals’ ‘domicile’ status (now superseded by ‘long term residence’ status), and offshore trusts and structures.

Even the most routine private client matters can give rise to unexpectedly complicated legal considerations. The tax implications of clients’ options then invariably complicate matters further. I specialise in breaking down the key points – enabling clients to make fully informed decisions that balance their family’s needs in light of both the tax and legal consequences.
