Partner

Michael is a partner in the commercial dispute resolution team and co-head of the financial services sector. He has experience in a broad range of complex disputes, primarily in the financial services sector. His clients include funds, investor groups, banks and other financial institutions, high net worth individuals, SMEs and corporates, particularly real estate investment and development businesses.

He advises clients on a wide variety of financial services and complex commercial disputes as well as on regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, and civil fraud claims. Michael also has a specialism in group litigation, and acts for SMEs, shareholder and investors in group claims. He has acted in international arbitrations and litigation in a number of high-profile cases. These have included disputes involving swaps and derivatives, transition management services, both regulated and unregulated investment schemes  including those operated fraudulently, typically Ponzi schemes, and the financing of infrastructure, oil and gas and renewable energy projects.

I am a financial services disputes lawyer, supporting our clients through some of the most demanding and challenging times they face. Disputes in this sector are often complex, both factually and legally, and clients have commented on the team’s ability to quickly marshal these facts, give clear practical advice, and achieve positive results.
