Lucie Prothero

Senior associate

Lucie is a senior associate in the firm’s medical negligence and personal injury team. She deals with a broad range of medical negligence cases against NHS trusts, GPs and private healthcare providers, as well as acting in catastrophic personal injury claims.

Praised for her approachability, sensitivity and attention to detail, Lucie has a particular focus on adult acquired brain injury, delayed diagnosis of cancer, delayed or missed diagnosis of DVT and pulmonary embolism, fatal claims, cauda equina syndrome, elderly care, neurological, uro-gynaecological and colorectal injury.

My aim is to provide compassionate, clear and tailored advice to my clients throughout their claim. As they have suffered significant injury or are bereaved as a result of avoidable harm, I consider it to be both a responsibility and a privilege to guide them professionally to reach the best possible outcome.

Lucie Prothero, Senior associate

She has extensive experience in quantifying and settling fatal claims of the highest value and complexity and frequently represents families in the inquest process which is often followed by significant civil settlements. She has worked on several high-profile inquest matters and has experience of media management.

Lucie is a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500 and a member of the AvMA Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel. She is passionate about providing access to justice for older people who have suffered injury as a result of failings in the standard of care given by healthcare providers and in care and nursing homes. She is equally driven to support families of children who have died as a result of medical negligence. While the quantum value of these cases is low based on current legislation, she believes this should not prevent families from seeking accountability in honour of their loved ones.
