Associate

Lauren is an associate in the commercial dispute resolution team in London. She works with businesses, individuals and charities across a range of commercial, financial, regulatory and public law matters.

Her practice includes advising on commercial contracts, shareholder and banking disputes, international and cross border matters, debt recovery, tax disputes and a variety of other matters. Lauren has experience representing clients in both High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings. She enjoys getting to know her clients to find out what matters to them, so that she can provide tailored advice and practical solutions to support their needs and objectives.

Lauren Kent, Associate

Lauren joined the firm in May 2022 from another London law firm where she trained, and where she qualified in 2019. Prior to training as a solicitor, Lauren worked at the Financial Ombudsman Service, resolving disputes between consumers and financial businesses and gaining experience of retail banking disputes and financial mis-selling claims. Lauren studied law with Spanish at the University of Sheffield. Her degree included one year studying Spanish law at the University of Valencia. She is a member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association.

Acting for a Fintech company on a claim against Metro Bank PLC for misuse of confidential information, copyright infringement, conversion, breaches of contract, and tortious interference with contractual relations.

International partnership dispute

Acting for an international company on a complex partnership dispute where an adverse party alleged that representations and agreements entered into in relation to a subsidiary granted partial control/ownership of the main group company.

Hotel chain dispute

Advising on a contractual dispute for an international hotel chain.

AI/DLT shareholder dispute

Acting for the sole shareholder and director of a BVI incorporated AI/DLT company in respect of a dispute with a contractor asserting rights to shares and/or officeholdings in the business.

Regional bank defence

Advising a UK regional bank in relation to complaints made against it by and/or on behalf of separate customers who had fallen victim to job scams.

Foreign judgment enforcement

Acting for two private individuals in connection with the enforcement of a foreign judgment in England and Wales in relation to a somewhat complex and protracted property sale in Spain.

Cross-border judgment advice

Advising other private individuals and companies in connection with the enforcement of foreign judgments in England and Wales.

APP fraud recovery

Successfully recovering funds on behalf of a corporate client who had been the victim of a third-party authorised push payment fraud (APP fraud).

Business interruption claims

Advising policyholders on business interruption insurance disputes in light of the Supreme Court judgment in the FCA test case.

Mis-selling complaints

Advising and representing banking and wealth management clients in relation to complaints to the Financial Ombudsman Service regarding alleged mis-selling and breaches of COB rules.

Judicial review representation

Acting for claimants and defendants in judicial review cases in the Administrative Court.

Complex contract disputes

Advising companies and individuals in complex commercial contractual disputes, including resolving such matters via negotiated settlement.

Cross-border judgment advice

Advising other private individuals and companies in connection with the enforcement of foreign judgments in England and Wales.
