Laura is an associate in the employment team in Reading, advising individuals and employers across a range of sectors. She also advises on education law.
Laura’s practice is both contentious and non-contentious and includes capability and conduct concerns, redundancy, TUPE, and whistleblowing. She is experienced in bringing and defending employment tribunal litigation, and negotiating settlements, and she also advises on trade union law, handling both threatened and actual industrial action. In the education sector, Laura assists independent schools with issues ranging from parent complaints and disputes with external bodies, to exam boards and SEND Tribunal matters.
I am passionate and creative in supporting clients to apply the law effectively so they can achieve their ambitions. My experience of working with individuals, companies and independent schools helps me to provide commercial and practical solutions.
She is skilled at varying her approach depending on her clients’ needs, which can range from advice on senior executive exits to support on large-scale corporate redundancies. Laura, a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association, also provides training to clients on a cross-section of issues, including employment law updates or refresher training on subjects such as sexual harassment and bullying. She recognises that each client is different and is adept at understanding their ambitions and providing appropriate strategic legal advice. Laura is a member of the firm’s socioeconomic committee.
