Laura Dadswell

Partner

Laura is a partner in the private client team and co-heads the private wealth sector within the firm. She is an international tax and family governance specialist with a particular emphasis in working with US issues and corporate wealth structuring.

She has a particular expertise in helping families to identify their goals and design a strategy which aligns family members and their stakeholders (such as trustees, charities, and executive boards of family businesses) to help achieve those goals and avoid, or mitigate, challenges such as unplanned tax exposure or family and business disputes.

At the heart of what I do is helping families achieve their goals – and often to help them work out those goals in the first place. Along the way, we may have to navigate complex legal and tax issues, especially where there is an international element involved. No journey is the same which means the day job is never dull!

Laura Dadswell, Partner

Laura is a regular speaker on conference platforms aimed at key players in the private client field in the UK, the US and other jurisdictions, and she continues to produce Context, the firm’s private wealth publication. The magazine explores global issues and trends we see shaping the future of private wealth. Previous issues have included a focus on private wealth disruptors (for example, articles on cryptocurrency and cybersecurity, jurisdiction competition for capital flight, energy transition and ESG impact on investment opportunities). Laura has been named as a top recommended tax lawyer in the 2024 edition of Spear’s 500, is a member of Legal Week’s Private Client Elite, and is recognised in Citywealth’s Leaders List.
