Adrian Moss

Trusts and tax director (Non solicitor)

London / Guildford

Adrian manages the Penningtons Manches Cooper trust and personal tax administration team which provides an accurate, efficient and cost-effective accounting and tax compliance service to clients. The team is involved in over 500 active trust administrations and the preparation of over 150 personal tax returns. As a specialist in the taxation of UK trusts, individuals, beneficiaries of non-residence trusts and remittance basis-users, Adrian applies his expertise to a wide variety of family situations, allowing the firm to provide a full legal and administrative service to trustees, executors and individuals.

Since joining Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2002, he has gained substantial experience of assisting UK clients with wealth structures, enabling them to protect family wealth by making effective gifts to future generations and maintaining management control of assets. His expertise includes the establishment and the ongoing administration of trusts, family investment companies and family limited partnerships.

Adrian’s broad, yet in-depth knowledge of the UK tax system and administration procedures for wealth structures enables him to advise clients effectively on the consequences of different paths that are open to them and allows them to make an informed decision. He writes on private wealth issues for a number of publications, including Lexis PSL.

  • Advising on the tax consequences of a family wealth structure involving a number of trusts and a family investment company.

  • Computing taxable income, gains and capital pools of mixed overseas funds operated by a remittance basis user to ensure minimal tax charges in remittances to the UK.
