John Chater

Partner

John is a partner, and head of the banking and finance team. He has been at Penningtons Manches Cooper for over 10 years, and has extensive experience acting on a broad range of finance transactions.

His expertise includes real estate finance (investment, bridging and development), leveraged and structured finance, and general corporate banking (acquisition and project finance), whether in the UK or across multiple jurisdictions. John has a broad range of clients, ranging from banks and alternative lending institutions to corporate borrowers on both bilateral and syndicated transactions.

I believe that banking and finance work is about relationships as much as it is about the law. My relationships with my clients are built on clear, practical, pragmatic and commercial advice that adds value and helps them to achieve their goals.
