Evelyn Komaki

Senior associate

Evelyn is a senior associate in the firm’s Piraeus office and specialises in shipping, insurance and international trade disputes. She mainly acts for shipowners, charterers, traders and their insurers on contentious matters (English arbitration and litigation in English courts) and advises on a wide range of shipping and sale of goods disputes.

She handles both dry and wet matters including charterparty and bills of lading disputes, underperformance claims, demurrage claims, off-hire claims, bunker quality disputes, cargo and ICA claims, unsafe port claims and casualties involving complex general average and liabilities aspects. She is particularly interested in cases with a technical side and requiring a multi-layered approach, on the spot advice, strategy planning and careful consideration of the commercial aspects involved. Evelyn is also part of the firm’s yacht team and represents clients in yacht disputes and casualties with a Greek element, ranging from injuries, collisions and fires to groundings and salvage claims.

I am fascinated by the stimulating world of shipping and international trade and the numerous challenges that stakeholders in the industry take up on a daily basis. I approach each case on its own evidence and ensure that I focus on the detail without missing the bigger picture in the process.
