Emily MacDonald

Associate

Emily is an associate in the corporate team, based in the London office. She advises on a range of corporate law matters including private and public M&A, accelerated sale processes in the context of corporate insolvency, group restructuring, shareholders’ agreements and general corporate governance issues.

From start-ups to established businesses, Emily has acted for clients across a variety of sectors including technology, real estate, retail and life sciences. She is listed as a recommended lawyer in the Legal 500 for ‘M&A: smaller deals, £10m-£100m’.

I pride myself on the attention to detail and methodical approach that I apply to all aspects of my career, and I have a genuine interest in getting to know and building long term relationships with the clients I work with.

Emily joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2022 from another London law firm, where she trained and qualified in 2019. Prior to commencing her career, she studied at the University of Exeter where she read law with international study, completing her third year in the US at the University of Connecticut School of Law. Emily is a member of the firm’s fashion, luxury and lifestyle sector group, and the North America group.

Advising the senior leadership team at BTE Plant Sales Limited on the management buy-out of one of the largest independent plant suppliers in the UK from its shareholders.

Assisting regional news publisher Newsquest Media Group on its acquisition of Archant Community Media Limited from private investment firm Rcapital.
