Chris is a partner in the employment team, with significant experience and excellent technical skills across the breadth of employment law. He is also the co-head of the firm’s North American group.

He frequently advises his clients on their most challenging and sensitive UK employment and HR related issues, as well as on internal and regulatory investigations and restrictive covenants. Chris is a solutions-focused and strategic adviser, who takes into account the full range of business needs when offering advice. He tackles the most complex of employment litigation and advice, with extensive experience of tribunal litigation, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing and breach of contract claims. In addition to his extensive litigation experience, Chris advises his clients on the regulatory considerations, the employment aspects of purchases, executive terminations, and cross border expansion projects.

I have wide experience across the breadth of UK employment law. I am particularly known for advising international clients and senior executives on their most complex matters. I am a solutions-focused adviser, whether in litigation, investigations, or transactions. I explain complex issues simply and make my advice user-friendly.

He is also a frequent commentator on employment issues, with a particular interest in responsible business, ESG (environmental, social, and governance) and workplace culture. Chris is a CEDR accredited mediator.

Acting for a law firm on the successful defence of multi-million pound discrimination claims, including on several novel points of insurance law not previously considered by the tribunals.

Advising the Oversight Board on all the complex employment aspects of its UK operation.

Advising a top 10 US law firm on an impartial investigation into allegations of sex and race discrimination, to include providing advice on strategy, recommendations, and management of next steps to a final resolution.

Advising a global chemical manufacturer on the departure of a senior executive and issuing an application to the court for breach of restrictive covenants, through to an agreed resolution including costs.
