Alice Fitzgerald Miller

Associate

Alice is an associate solicitor in the medical negligence team in Guildford. She represents clients across a diverse range of medical negligence cases, including claims against NHS trusts, private clinicians and GPs.

She has experience in supporting individuals with a range of life-changing issues, including lower limb amputations, sepsis, surgical errors, fatal claims, delays in diagnosis of cancer claims, and ophthalmic and orthopaedic negligence claims.

Clients often come to us at an extremely vulnerable time in their life. I take pride in being able to support and guide them through this often daunting and complex process. I am proud to work for a firm that is passionate about client care and achieving the best possible results for our clients.

Alice also assists on high value, complex cases of maximum severity, such as birth injury cases, including cerebral palsy, spinal injuries, including cauda equina, and complex neurological issues. She takes pride in making a lasting and positive impact on those who need her help the most, by securing settlements to fund much-needed treatment and therapies to help improve and re-build the quality of her clients’ lives after injury.

Alice joined the firm in May 2024 as an associate after spending seven years at a large national law firm. She completed her training contract and qualified as a solicitor in 2020.

Orthopaedic claim

Independently running a multi-million-pound case, securing a full liability admission in relation to a delay in diagnosis of septic hip arthritis in a young mother.

Media coverage

Supporting a mother with her stillbirth claim and reaching a swift settlement with an early letter of notification. Taking part in an ITV television interview with our client to raise awareness of recognising pre-eclampsia in pregnancy.

Complex amputation claims

Securing settlement on a complex case with three defendants in which a delay in treatment of a diabetic foot ulcer led to amputation for the client who sadly lost capacity part way through proceedings.

Cancer claim

Securing an early admission on a delayed diagnosis of vaginal vault cancer case with substantial quantum.

Surgical error

Achieving an out of court settlement on a complex surgical error case involving the negligent doctoring of a consent form. A GMC investigation was also instigated which led to the doctor being struck off.
