Jenny is an associate in the corporate team in London. She has experience in a broad range of corporate law matters, including private and public mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, private equity and buy-outs, group restructurings, shareholders’ agreements, LLPs and partnerships and general corporate governance issues. She also has experience advising on financial services regulation.

Jenny has acted for clients across a variety of sectors including retail, technology, real estate, education and financial services and has experience advising on both UK and cross-border transactions. This experience has led her to become  a member of Penningtons Manches Cooper’s fashion, luxury and lifestyle sector group and co-editor of the firm’s monthly fashion, luxury and lifestyle news aggregator. She is also a member of the International Association of Young Lawyers.

I am a corporate lawyer advising our clients on a range of complex transactions and offering pragmatic, commercially focused advice. I enjoy understanding the needs of client businesses and helping them to achieve their aims.

Amy-Jane Westaway

Associate (FCILEx)

Amy-Jane is an associate in the real estate litigation team, based in London, acting and advising upon a variety of contentious matters, including property and neighbour disputes, contract and franchise disputes, and debt recovery matters.

She deals with a variety of disputes, with a particular focus on residential real estate and social housing. Her case load regularly consists of matters such as boundary disputes, restrictive covenant disputes, rental repossessions and trespass, disrepair, neighbour disputes, adverse possession and disputes concerning rights of way. Her clients include private individuals, registered companies, and social housing providers. Amy-Jane has advocacy experience, having attended many County Court hearings on behalf of clients, including possession hearings and injunction hearings (for applications made both on a with and without notice basis). She has also completed an accredited mediation course with the London School of Mediators.

I am a real estate litigation lawyer specialising in residential property disputes, priding myself in finding pragmatic solutions for clients. I appreciate the importance of understanding each client’s key objectives from the outset of every matter. I ensure that these are at the fore when analysing their dispute, considering strategy and available solutions.

Amy-Jane Westaway, Associate (FCILEx)

After starting her career in residential conveyancing, Amy-Jane moved into dispute resolution in 2017. She qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in October 2020. Having worked at a firm in the Midlands for just over 10 years and seeking to focus her practice area on property litigation, Amy-Jane joined the real estate litigation team at Penningtons Manches Cooper in August 2023.

Danny Thomas

Danny is an associate in the projects, development, and construction team, with in-depth knowledge of project procurement spanning a variety of standard form construction contracts, including JCT, NEC, and FIDIC.

He provides tailored, practical legal advice on complex construction matters. Danny’s experience covers all stages of the project lifecycle, from initial contract negotiations to project completion and beyond. An accomplished non-contentious construction solicitor with a strong background in the construction industry, Danny has 10 years of in-house legal experience, having previously worked for a major UK contractor, specialising in multi-million-pound fit-out projects and a structural engineering design consultancy practice. He has developed extensive expertise advising a wide range of clients, including public and private sector entities, developers, educational institutions, and corporate office occupiers.

My approach combines attention to detail with strategic foresight, helping clients navigate the legal challenges of complex construction projects. Ellis van der Vos

Associate

Ellis is an associate within the banking and finance team. He has experience in dealing with a broad range of non-contentious, transactional and advisory work, with a particular focus on trade, ship and yacht finance.

He acts for both lenders and borrowers on bilateral and syndicated loan agreements, often involving multiple parties and countries and high value transactions. Ellis’s clients include UK and overseas banks and corporate borrowers working in international trade finance, including receivables finance, as well as advising on operational and regulatory issues. With specialist knowledge of ship and yacht finance, Ellis works on the sale and purchase of vessels as well as advising on shipbuilding and repair contracts, finance agreements, security and registration. He works with the owners, operators, buyers and sellers of ships and yachts both in the UK and internationally, from small pleasure craft to superyachts, cruise ships, ferries and container vessels.

Maud Vandaneigen

Associate

Maud is an associate in the marine, trade and aviation team in Paris. She advises and assists institutional clients in the maritime sector – for example, ports and shipowners – the road sector – in particular, freight forwarders – and the insurance sector, in disputes relating to the maritime and road transport of goods.

She also acts in yachting cases and represents insurance companies and their policyholders in civil liability disputes concerning, for example, personal injury. Depending on their needs, Maud can also act for these clients, or on behalf of individuals, in civil and commercial disputes before the French courts, particularly in property law and banking liability.

As a lawyer, I think it’s important to be both responsive and attentive to our clients’ needs. My aim is to ensure the success of their project by proposing effective solutions tailored to their needs.

Maud Vandaneigen, Associate

Maud was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2023 after obtaining a degree in French law, a university diploma in Anglo-American law, and a master’s degree in private international law from the Toulouse Capitole University. Before joining Penningtons Manches Cooper, she worked in French and international law firms for institutional clients in the banking and energy sectors. She speaks French, English and Italian.

Lauren Stubbs

Associate

Lauren is an associate within the Guildford family team with experience in advising clients on a full range of family law issues including children arrangements, financial arrangements upon divorce and cohabitation disputes. She also advises high net worth clients and those with international connections.

She has acted in numerous matters with complexities including ongoing criminal proceedings, mental health and capacity issues, domestic violence and alcohol/drug dependencies. Lauren also has a growing legal practice in modern family law and has acted on numerous international surrogacy cases.

Prior to this, she obtained a first-class law degree from the University of Warwick and a distinction in her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law. During her legal studies, Lauren was awarded the runner-up Gamlen Prize by the Westminster and Holborn Law Society for being the most promising candidate. Associate

Jo is an associate in the employment team, based in the firm’s London office. She acts for a range of individuals and staff associations.

As a member of Penningtons Manches Cooper’s Police Federation team, Jo acts on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Robbie Skinner, Associate

Robbie has been involved in several multi-jurisdictional disputes which have required preparation for hearings and trial in high-value cases concerning charterparty disputes, salvage, yacht claims, demurrage, and aviation insurance issues. Oliver Simpson

Ollie is an associate in the IP, IT and commercial team in London. He assists a broad range of clients on matters relating to a variety of sectors and services, including general commercial agreements, data protection, intellectual property, advertising and marketing, and sports.

In particular, Ollie assists with drafting, reviewing and advising on the supply of goods and services agreements, confidentiality agreements, master services agreements, statements of work and both business to business and business to consumer terms and conditions.
