Godline is an associate in the employment team, based in the London office, and part of the firm’s Police Federation team.

She acts for staff associations and their members on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, offering comprehensive advice on all areas of employment law, with a particular focus on discrimination, harassment and whistleblowing. She has extensive experience negotiating settlements that include both financial and non-financial elements, working to secure the best possible outcomes for her client. Godline has worked in the legal sector since 2007 and qualified in 2014 as a solicitor. Before joining the firm, she worked several years as an in-house solicitor for the Police Federation of England and Wales. Faryaal Aziz, Associate

Faryaal read law at the University of Warwick and went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at BPP University, Holborn. She trained at another leading City law firm, where she gained experience working on complex, high-value transactions, before moving to a regional UK law firm. She joined the firm in 2025.

Ellie is an associate based in the London office, and has a broad range of experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.

She regularly supports businesses and individuals with advice across a variety of employment issues. Ellie has advised companies operating in a number of sectors, including entertainment, retail, and professional services. She regularly acts on day-to-day HR and employment law matters, including guiding employers through disciplinary and capability procedures, and grievances. Ellie has also assisted with restructures and organisational changes. She is well-versed in drafting and reviewing employment contracts, staff handbooks, and internal policies.

Eleanor Adshead, Associate

In addition to her work with employers, Ellie also represents senior executives and employees in workplace disputes. She has experience in negotiating settlement agreements and advising on exit strategies, and has supported clients in bringing and defending claims before the Employment Tribunal, including those involving unfair dismissal, discrimination, and whistleblowing. Ellie qualified as a solicitor in 2023 after completing her training contract at a multi-service law firm in the north-west of England. Following qualification, she relocated to London and joined the firm’s employment department in 2025.

Lizzie is an associate in the medical negligence team in Guildford.

She has experience in supporting individuals with a range of life-changing issues, including lower limb amputations, diabetes, sepsis, surgical errors, fatal claims, delays in diagnosis of cancer claims, and orthopaedic negligence claims. Lizzie also assists on high-value, complex cases of maximum severity, including cases involving birth injury, amputation and cauda equina.

Elizabeth Ronan, Associate

Lizzie has experience in dealing with claims against private clinicians, NHS trusts, and GPs, including cases where there are multiple defendants and a dispute as to who the responsible party is. She strives to have a long-lasting positive impact on her clients, who have gone through life changing injuries or loss as a result of negligence, working hard to achieve the best settlements possible for them with the hope of eliminating, or at least reducing, their concerns about the financial impact of their injuries or loss. Bethany Walker

Associate

Bethany is an associate in the private client team and advises individuals and families on private client law, including lifetime planning and estate administration. Her clients include high net worth individuals and families, many of whom own business assets and assets overseas.

She is astute to both estate planning and estate administration concerning highly sensitive and personal topics, and takes an empathetic and pragmatic approach to the legal advice she provides. With private client litigation on the rise, Bethany is always keen to work in conjunction with the contentious private client team to support her clients should disputes arise in their estate administration matters, and to act preventatively when handling estate planning matters to help mitigate the chances of a client’s estate facing contentious issues in the future.

I support clients through some of the most emotionally challenging times of their lives, aiming to remove at least some of that burden in respect of the legal aspects of a matter. Bethany Walker, Associate

Alongside her role as an associate, Bethany sits on the Law Society of England & Wales’ Council as a council member representing junior solicitors with up to six years’ post-qualification experience. She is also a member of the Law Society’s Membership & Communications Committee. Bethany trained and qualified at a top 100 UK law firm in Guildford in 2023, and joined the firm in 2025 from a top 100 UK law firm based in London.

Ben Porter

Associate

Ben is an associate (FCILEx) practicing in the personal injury and medical negligence team, based out of the Birmingham and London offices. He has extensive experience of representing claimants in complex and high-value multi-track claims, including road traffic accidents, employer’s liability, occupier’s liability, public liability and secondary victim matters, from the pre-action stage through litigation to trial.

As a result of his experience, Ben has worked on many varied and complex cases during his 11 years in the industry, often representing clients who have suffered brain damage, amputation or severe polytrauma as a result of the negligence of others. Ben regularly secures six-figure damages awards on behalf of his clients, and has also been heavily involved in assisting partners with achieving seven-figure damages awards.

I take a pragmatic and collaborative approach to litigation, prioritising rehabilitation, and, wherever possible, securing interim payments at the earliest possible stage of the claim. This ensures that my clients receive the best possible treatment and level of care that they both need and deserve.

Ben Porter, Associate

Ben currently specialises in representing police officers, which is a nuanced area of personal injury practice given the varied nature of their roles and benefits. He predominantly deals with physical injury, psychiatric injury, abuse/historic abuse and Protection from Harassment Act claims. Previously primarily based out of London, Ben relocated to Birmingham in August 2023 to assist with the setting up of a new personal injury and medical negligence team in the firm’s Birmingham office. He helps senior partners with the day to day running of the Birmingham team.

Securing a £130,000 settlement for a police officer who suffered a significant lower back injury as a result of the negligence of a colleague during a training accident.

Securing a £215,000 settlement for a police officer who sustained multiple injuries following a head-on road traffic collision caused by another vehicle unlawfully crossing onto the wrong side of the carriageway.

Police station accident

Securing a £125,000 settlement for a police officer who sustained a significant fracture injury to her elbow as a result of a tripping accident at her station, caused by insufficient lighting.

Road traffic accident

Securing a £300,000 settlement for a police officer who sustained a significant knee injury as a result of a road traffic collision.

Andy Meatcher

Associate

Andy is an associate in the real estate litigation team, specialising in commercial property matters, with significant experience of acting for both landlords and tenants.

He is ranked in the Legal 500 as a recommended lawyer and has considerable experience of dealing with a broad range of commercial property matters, including asset management/portfolio work for several large high street tenants and landlords, particularly where such matters interconnect with the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954. Andy also has significant specialism in dealing with rent arrears, forfeiture and re-entry of commercial premises, and breach of lease disputes, and focuses on providing commercially practical advice in relation to litigation, targeting the overall objective for the respective client in each matter. He has a particular interest in matters of trespass and dealing with squatters and protestors, which has included cases at the High Court and obtaining both injunctions and possession orders.

I am a real estate disputes associate advising on a broad spectrum of commercial property matters. My priority is providing commercially astute advice to assist clients with the core legal issues, however complex, with the aim of continually factoring in the broader picture of their overarching aims and objectives for the property.

Andy Meatcher, Associate

Andy is a member of the Property Litigation Association, and sits on the committee of the South Coast branch, assisting fellow property litigators in arranging events, networking and training. He studied his undergraduate degree in law at the University of Surrey, before completing a masters in international law at the University of Southampton. Andy qualified as a solicitor in September 2019 at another national top 50 firm, and joined the firm in July 2025. He has spent his years since qualifying focusing on several areas of property litigation, but now his practice focuses predominantly on commercial property disputes.

Andrew is an associate in the banking and finance team. He has experience in a broad range of banking and finance matters, including real estate finance, acquisition finance, receivables financing, general finance solutions for businesses, general banking, and other credit facilities and financial services.

He has acted for banks and financial institutions, as well as businesses operating in different sectors, such as financial services, real estate, shipping, technology, energy, retail and education. Andrew has experience assisting with cross-jurisdictional transactional and regulatory matters, and has worked with banks, financial institutions and businesses from various jurisdictions including the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, the US, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan and Singapore. Alex Adams

Associate

Alex is an associate in the private client team who specialises in lifetime planning and estate administration. Her clients include elderly and vulnerable individuals, high net worth individuals, families with assets located in multiple jurisdictions and executors administering such assets.

Her practice focuses on advising executors and administrators on probate and estate administration including post-death restructuring. Alex’s work includes drafting wills and trust documentation as part of advising families and individuals as to their succession planning and the preparation of lasting powers of attorney (LPAs). She also works closely with the firm’s contentious private client team.

Alex Adams, Associate

Alex qualified as a solicitor in 2020 after training at the firm and is now a member of STEP, the world’s leading organisation for private wealth professionals, having completed the STEP diploma with distinction. As part of the qualification, she achieved a distinction in the Advanced Certificate in Cross Border Estates. She has previously worked in Spain and is a fluent Spanish speaker. Jessica Bovill

Associate

Jessica is an associate in the corporate team, based in the Guildford office. She advises clients on a wide range of corporate transactions, including acquisitions and disposals, group restructurings, and corporate governance.

She has worked for clients in several different business and industry sectors since qualifying as a solicitor in 2021, gaining a diverse range of experience and expertise. In the area of group restructuring, Jessica has advised several companies on complex pre-sale group restructuring. Her expertise in this area has been invaluable in helping clients navigate complex issues and restructuring challenges, ensuring that they are well-positioned for a successful sale. Jessica has also previously advised the shareholders of an insurance broker company, guiding them through a pre-sale group restructuring. Following this restructuring, she then advised the shareholders on the company’s sale to a Nottingham based insurance broker.
