Jade is an associate in the employment team based in London. She advises corporate clients, educational institutions, staff associations and their members, and individuals across a broad range of employment law matters.

With experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters, Jade acts in several sectors, with a particular focus on education, retail and fashion. She has advised on a number of Employment Tribunal claims involving discrimination and unfair dismissal claims. She takes a particular interest in gynaecology-related disability matters and has represented numerous individuals with endometriosis and PCOS.

Jade Sisk, Associate

Jade’s secondment with Farfetch, a global leader in luxury fashion e commerce, provided first hand exposure to the commercial priorities shaping the fashion sector. In the education sector, she works closely with many higher education institutions, colleges and academics on disciplinary and grievance processes, terminations, contract and policy issues, day-to-day HR queries and tribunal litigation.

Jade qualified in 2025 after completing her training contract at the firm. She chairs the firm’s gynaecology sub-committee, working closely with the gender committee on initiatives to support colleagues experiencing gynaecological health issues. Jade is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Elina Pavlidou

Associate

Elina is an associate in the marine, trade and aviation team. Her experience includes advising on charterparty and bill of lading disputes and acting for a broad range of clients, including insurers, shipowners, charterers and P&I clubs.

Her practice also extends to aviation insurance and reinsurance, with a focus on complex coverage disputes. She acts in multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration proceedings, and has been significantly involved in the multi billion dollar aviation insurance claims arising out of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, advising insurers and reinsurers across all aspects of the litigation.

Elina Pavlidou, Associate

Elina joined the firm in 2020 and has worked in both the Piraeus and London offices. She qualified in 2025. Prior to this, Elina completed her maritime law LLM at UCL, where she achieved an outstanding distinction for her thesis on the Insurance Act 2015. She is a native Greek speaker.

Mollie Day

Associate

Mollie is an associate in the real estate disputes team.

Her practice covers a range of property-related disputes, including TLATA claims and co-ownership disputes, claims for forfeiture and possession, claims under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, rent arrears recovery, service charge disputes, and disrepair and access injunction applications. Mollie’s clients include institutional investors, investment funds, social housing landlords, listed companies and private individuals.

Mollie Day, Associate

She has a particular interest in matters where there are issues of duress and undue influence, for example when dealing with the division of property in the context of relationship breakdown, which has included a case in the High Court. Mollie also has experience of litigating disputes on behalf of a PLC property investor and advising on matters such as mental incapacity, loss of security of tenure and contesting succession applications.

Mollie qualified as a solicitor in 2025 having previously completed her training contract at the firm. She holds a first-class degree from the University of East Anglia and a distinction in the LPC from BPP University. She is also a member of the Property Litigation Association.

James Hibbert

Associate

James is an associate in the real estate disputes team in London. He has particular experience in long leasehold residential property disputes, alongside expertise in building safety matters, including those related to the Building Safety Act 2022.

He is experienced in acting for a diverse range of clients, including institutional landlords, social housing providers, housing associations and private individuals. Specialising in all aspects of building safety work, including applications under the Building Safety Act 2022, James also has experience in dealing with disrepair claims, trespass matters, service charge disputes, forfeiture and possession claims.

James Hibbert, Associate

James is a member of the Property Litigation Association. He studied law at the University of Manchester, before qualifying as a solicitor in December 2020. James previously worked within another Legal 500-ranked real estates disputes team, before joining Penningtons in January 2026.

Frances Onyinah

Associate

Frances is an associate in the employment team, based in the London office. She acts for staff associations and their members on a broad range of employment law matters, including issues such as discrimination, disciplinary, and grievance disputes.

Throughout her career, Frances has assisted on various complex and high-value employment law matters, supporting clients from the early stages of ACAS conciliation through to negotiating settlement. She has secured successful outcomes in her own Employment Tribunal claims and has developed extensive litigation experience in the Employment Tribunal, the Employment Appeal Tribunal, and the Court of Appeal.

Frances Onyinah, Associate

As part of the firm’s Police Federation team, Frances advises members on a variety of employment disputes, with particular emphasis on equality‑related claims and matters arising under the Police Regulations. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the firm’s race and faith committee. Frances joined the firm in 2025, after qualifying at a City-based employment boutique firm. She is also a committee member of the British Ghanaian Lawyers Union, and has featured in The Times and The Law Society Gazette following her receipt of the Law Society’s Diversity Access Scheme scholarship.

She has a broad practice covering both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Tessa has acted in Employment Tribunal cases involving unfair and constructive dismissal, breach of contract, discrimination, and whistleblowing, and is experienced in handling workplace disputes at every stage – from internal complaints and grievances through to litigation. Alongside her contentious work, she provides comprehensive HR support to employer clients, advising on restructuring and redundancies, disciplinary and grievance procedures, and drafting and reviewing settlement agreements, employment contracts, and company policies.

Tessa Donald, Associate

Tessa qualified in 2025, having joined the firm as a trainee solicitor. She holds a Master’s degree in politics from the University of Edinburgh and subsequently undertook her law conversion at BPP. Janey Smellie, Associate

Janey is also experienced in advising on settlement agreements for both individuals and businesses. Additionally, she assists on corporate transactions and has acted for global leaders in the water, agricultural, and land sustainability sectors with revenues of over £2 billion.

Janey qualified as a solicitor in September 2023, and is a solicitor-advocate. Prior to joining the firm, she was a paralegal and trained at a neighbouring Thames Valley firm.

With experience in both contentious and non‑contentious matters, Lucas advises clients on Employment Tribunal claims involving discrimination, unfair dismissal, breach of contract, and issues concerning TUPE.
