Settlement for US health and safety breaches

We have successfully acted on behalf of a woman who fell down a flight of steps in front of a timeshare apartment in Florida.

Expert evidence determined that the banister was too high, the steps too narrow, and that there was no non-slip coating on the steps - all in breach of local and federal health and safety regulations. The claimant sustained a fracture injury to her leg which prevented her from working at her pre-accident capacity. As a result, she lost her partnership in an accountancy firm.

The claim has recently settled for $235,000, to include a considerable claim for future lost earnings.
