Elizabeth Yell, Senior Associate at Penningtons Manches

Elizabeth is a senior associate in our Reading corporate team. She read Oriental Studies at Oxford University and, on graduation, took an MSc in International Relations at the London School of Economics. After working in research and publishing with a Middle Eastern focus, she re-trained as a lawyer and qualified into the corporate team in 2011, having been a trainee at the firm.

She works on a wide range of corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, management buy-outs, venture capital and funding transactions and reorganisations. Elizabeth has particular experience of venture capital work principally for high growth technology businesses including advising on their establishment, seed capital investment and major funding rounds.

  • Advising Plaxica Limited on its £8 million Series C funding by Imperial Innovations, Invesco and NESTA.
  • Acting for Brightborough Capital Limited on the disposal of Advanced Coated Products Limited and Tenza Technologies Limited.
  • Advising the shareholders of RMG Technology Limited on their sale to Oxford Instruments.
  • Acting for Williams F1 on its listing on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the public offering of its shares in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
  • Assisting on a number of venture capital transactions, including funding deals for Oxford Photovoltaics (MTI, Longwall), C5 Capital (Metrasens), Libamen (private investors), Helveta (Albion, Oxford Capital), Cortexica (Imperial Innovations) and Veryan (Imperial Innovations and Seroba Kernel).
