Profile

Clare is a senior associate (FCILEx) in the employment team in London.

With over 10 years’ experience of complex discrimination and whistleblowing matters, she is a strong advocate of equality and diversity in the workplace and has a particular interest in equal treatment for women. She is a member of the firm’s specialist Police Federation team.

Clare joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2017 from another leading City law firm. She qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2011. During her career, she has contributed to a number of specialist legal publications including the Employment Lawyers Association Journal.

Recent work highlights

  • Successfully representing a police dog handler who was subjected to direct pregnancy discrimination which had implications forcewide.
  • Assisting a female officer in pursuing an indirect sex discrimination claim over a discriminatory policy which was being applied by three police forces.
  • Advising the Police Federation and representing a number of male officers in claims for indirect sex discrimination regarding the colour vision testing/colour vision standards for authorised firearms officers and taser officers.
