Profile

Camilla is an associate in the clinical negligence team in the Basingstoke office. She qualified into a City law firm in 1992 and, following a career break, she chose clinical negligence as her second career and joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2005.

She assists in a wide range of cases and has a particular interest in claims involving cardiology and cardiac surgery, oncology, elderly care, pharmacology (with a focus on the treatment of Parkinson’s disease), general surgery and catastrophic birth injuries. She also deals with fatal accident claims, including those involving mental health issues.

Camilla is a member of the clinical negligence and cerebal palsy Twitter teams and regularly writes articles on topical issues in clinical negligence for the firm’s website. She  is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and has worked as a volunteer on the AvMA Helpline.

Recent work highlights

  • Assisting on the settlement of a fatal accident claim involving a young father who died as a result of a failure by the treating hospital to diagnose his heart disease.
  • Advising on the quantum aspects of a very high value cerebral palsy claim.
  • Assisting on a fatal accident claim where the injured party committed suicide following a lack of care on the part of the mental health care provider.
