Profile

Laura is a senior associate in the real estate litigation team. Her work covers a range of property-related disputes for clients ranging from institutional investors to private individuals. She is a specialist in commercial landlord and tenant law and is the trusted advisor for several landlords and tenants in respect of their commercial and mixed used portfolios. Laura’s work in this area covers rent arrears recovery, forfeiture, opposed and unopposed lease renewals, service charge disputes, breaches of covenant, dilapidations, vacant possession strategies and insolvency.

She also acts for landlords of high-rise residential buildings. Laura focuses on fire and structural safety and what building owners must do to comply with the Building Safety Act 2022 and the evolving regulatory landscape. She is currently involved in multiple cladding remediation schemes and has secured millions of pounds in grant funding on behalf of her clients. Laura has experience of terminating purchase contracts where safety concerns arise pre-completion and advises landlords and managing agents on how fire and structural safety expenditure and funding should be dealt with from a residential service charge perspective.

On the private client side, Laura has a particular interest in property ownership disputes and leads this area of the team's practice. She regularly advises separating couples on the sale of their home and how proceeds should be divided, including the buy-out of one owner by another. Laura is said by clients to be ‘exceptional at communicating complicated issues in a straightforward way’ and is praised for her ‘clear vision of the end point’ and ‘proactive communication’.
