Profile

Hannah is an associate in the family team in Reading. She advises on all areas of private family law, and has particular experience in resolving financial claims in matters involving foreign jurisdictions or assets. Hannah has a keen interest in cases with a UAE/Sharia law dimension, having spent time working in Dubai for a specialist international family law firm. Hannah also has experience of matters involving children, in particular, those regarding financial provision for children born to unmarried couples.

After studying law at the University of Birmingham, Hannah undertook her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law Bloomsbury before qualifying as a solicitor in 2018. She joined Penningtons Manches Cooper from specialist litigation firm where she primarily worked on providing family law advice to high net worth individuals.

Hannah is a member of Resolution, the leading specialist organisation for family law solicitors. She is also a member of the Women Lawyers Division, and the Association of Women Solicitors.

Recent work highlights

  • Assisting in the representation of the husband in the High Court case of Radseresht v Radseresht-Spain [2017], concerning the recognition of a talaq divorce in England and Wales.
  • Successfully representing the mother in Schedule 1 Children Act proceedings against a high-profile father.
  • Acting for an English wife in negotiating and obtaining a post-nuptial agreement, and providing specialist advice as to its enforceability in the UAE, before taking the necessary steps to have the order mirrored and executed before the UAE courts.
  • Representing a wife in a notice to show cause application, successfully obtaining an order in the form of the agreement which the husband had reneged upon.
