David has over 25 years' experience in real estate litigation. He acts for owners and users of commercial and residential property including numerous housing associations. His practice covers a wide range of property disputes including Rights to Light and party wall disputes, claims involving construction of leases, restrictive covenants and service charge disputes.

He is a member of the Property Litigation Association, the Institute of Continuing Practice Development and the Pyramus & Thisbe Club.

David is a qualified mediator and has been recognised by Chambers UK and the latest edition of The Legal 500.

Recent work highlights

  • Acting for a warehouse premises’ owner faced with a claim for £60,000 for back charges for electricity over a seven year period where the electricity provider had unlawfully changed the basis for charging
  • Obtaining security for costs for a residential property owner to cover any potential future damages caused by an adjoining site in Kensington where substantial sub-basement works were being undertaken
  • Advising pub tenants on the renewal of their commercial leases having regard to the UK Pub Industry Framework Code where there is still enormous pressure to agree substantial rent increases
