Profile

Andrea is an experienced property litigation lawyer advising on disputes involving all areas of commercial and residential property law as well as agricultural matters. She represents a wide range of clients from national retail chains to property developers, farmers and estates.

She has particular expertise in easement and right of way disputes, claims for adverse possession, agricultural tenancy disputes, forfeiture of both commercial and agricultural property, disputes relating to residential management companies and service charges for long residential leases, property related insolvency disputes and private nuisance claims including damages for flooding.

Andrea is a committee member of the East Anglia regional group of the Property Litigation Association. She is also a member of the Agricultural Law Association, which she chaired between 2011 and 2013. She has written for Lexis PSL, Farmers’ Weekly and local press on agricultural matters and has given training courses for both CLT and the ALA where she was a tutor for the fellowship programme.

Recent work highlights

  • Handling a successful application in the Upper Tribunal on behalf of a developer seeking to establish a right of way to land that it had acquired by adverse possession.
  • Advising on the restructuring of a complex arrangement of agricultural tenancies for a large landed estate.
  • Acting for the residents’ management company of a large residential development of both flats and houses in a dispute with the developer and the interim directors.
  • Defending a freezing order made without notice against the assets of a relative of a bankrupt.
