Rebecca qualified in 2012 and is an associate in the private client team specialising in UK and international tax planning.

She has experience of advising individuals, entrepreneurs, families, family offices and trust companies with cross-border estate planning issues, which frequently involves complex tax advice with an international element and liaising with advisors in different jurisdictions. Her work also extends to occasional advice on complex probate matters.

Rebecca is a student member of STEP, the world’s leading organisation for private wealth professionals.  She writes articles for many of the prominent professional publications including Spears and eprivateclient, provides comments for the media and has been quoted in articles written by The Telegraph and the BBC. Clients and peers praise Rebecca for being ‘excellent, so well organised’, ‘extremely knowledgeable’ and ‘a fantastic private client lawyer’.

Recent work highlights

  • Advising trustees of the UK inheritance tax and capital gains tax implications of winding up an offshore trust and distributing the assets to UK resident beneficiaries.
  • Providing clean capital trust structuring advice to a non-UK resident / domiciled individual prior to his arrival to the UK.
  • Advising husband and wife clients, who were Australian residents with UK domiciles of origin, on the concept of domicile from a UK tax perspective. The case involved identifying key actions for the clients to take to evidence acquisition of Australian domiciles of choice.
  • Acting for a non-UK domiciled individual on the UK tax implications to acquiring a multi-million pound residential property in Knightsbridge, London.
