Areas of expertise: Employment

Chris is a case manager in the employment team in London. He advises on a broad range of regulatory, employment, civil and public law matters and is recognised in particular for his work for the Police Federation of England and Wales.

A leading practitioner in ill-health retirement and injury pension matters, Chris appears at the Police Medical Appeal Boards on behalf of officers and former officers. He regularly represents those with psychiatric injuries, particularly post-traumatic stress disorder, and develops good relationships with his clients, who value his honest approach. He is able to break down complex regulatory issues so that they understand the issues and approaches taken in their cases.

Chris has experience in conducting group actions including orchestrating an action on behalf of 50 claimants in a case concerning Regulation 37 pension reviews. This led to the restoration of injury awards for all claimants to previous levels and over £2 million in back pay for the former police officers who had their pensions restored to previous levels.

He joined Penningtons Manches Cooper from a national firm in 2019.
